This is my daughter Freda-rose after her first swim in a public swimming pool. She is just short of six weeks old and did exceedingly well considering her tininess.
Thought I should keep a record of her lovely costume and where better to record it than on a blog.
Well its been a long weekend, and the kids have been great. My wonderful twin sister came to visit in her ace new bus, which she transported us about in.
We went to a beautiful part of the Island where my mum and dad, uncle and his son had sailed to in Dads yacht. We met them on the shoreline and sat and chatted in the beer garden for hours. It was a beautiful day where all the family met up and discussed our recent adventures.
I am so lucky to have such a caring family, it may not consist of many members, but the ones who are involved are all such special people. Who said you cant choose your family? If I had the choice to choose mine I wouldn't change a thing! My family are my world and it is those people in my world who keep this silly grin on my face, when the times are hard and I have to bite bullets, bare all, grind teeth, dig deep, root for strength, smile in the face of the enemy, and use my broad shoulders. It is them who give me the strength to do it all.
Life is here to test us, as they say, and it is a test I would rather fail than never take at all. I am fortunate and prosperous, lucky, loved and content. Does it get any better? Who knows? There are the hopes and dreams that keep us trying harder. The desires and the temptations which drive us on to better things. But all of these things take a backbench when I think about the loved ones in my life. More money, more clothes, bigger house, shinier car, better education, better career, thinner thighs, and longer days would be nice, but without my family none of them would improve my life or keep my heart alive, beating and happy.
Today is a day when things are up. All my worries are in another dimension. I want for nothing but the well being of us all and that is the most rewarding and desirable future for me. All the other things will simply be a bonus.
